Physical Development
The children are very active in Reception and are always on the move! We spend a lot of time outside, helping children to develop their coordination, large muscle movement and strength. Raking the leaves, digging the vegetable patch, wheeling the wheelbarrow riding a scooter, climbing, running, den building and watering the plants all help develop balance, strength and coordination.
The children use a range of tools and explore finger fitness activities such as jigsaws, threading, lego and dough disco to help develop the fine motor skills in their hands and fingers. The learn how to grip a pen and pencil properly and use it to write some letters and numbers.
